You are an impostor, Hannah Wanjiru tells off Elijah K. Chebon

The mother of the late marathoner Samuel Kamau Wanjiru has dismissed as an impostor a man from Baringo District who claims to be the champion’s biological father.
Hannah Wanjiru dismissed as impostor Elijah Kipng’etich arap  Chebon who claims to the Kamau’s biological father
Reports from Nakuru said  Hannah and Chebon met in a face-off in Nakuru where she told Chebon, who works at Baringo County Council offices, to apologise for disparaging her name at this time of grief.
Speaking through his lawyer Job Kurigat, Chebon however insisted that he was the father of the late athletics star and was not going to apologise.
Said the lawyer: “My client is not withdrawing even a word from his stand that he believes he fathered Kamau.”
Chebon had been summoned by the family for a meeting in Nakuru but did not now what the turn of events would befall him, particularly that of being asked to apologise.
Lawyer Kurigat told the Press that as far as his client was concerned, Kamau’s mother was being insincere.
It was revealed that after the  death of Kamau was announced through the Press, Chebon sent Hannah an SMS offering his condolences saying “May God give strength during this hard times, Elijah K. Chebon.” How he got her phone number was not explained.
But Hannah, accompanied by her two lawyers, Gordon Ogola and Wilfred Konosi, claimed she only became aware of Chebon through the media. She insisted that Kamau was murdered and his body thrown down from the balcony.
Hannah added that she would only allow burial arrangements to proceed after the post-mortem was conducted to reveal what killed the marathon star. Said Hannah: “I’m not opposed to my son’s decent burial, I’m only asking for patience until the case of his death is established.”
Earlier on, Chebon had been reported as wondering why his son has not yet been buried  amicably. A section of the national press quoted him as expressing his displeasure at the wrangles surrounding the Olympics marathon star’s death.
These wrangles, said the old man, was a disrespect to the fallen hero. Said Chebon amid tears: “I request that the family feuds be put aside first  until my son is given a decent send-off for putting this country on the world map.”
Chebon, whose face has uncanny resemblance to that of Kamau, told the Press that he fathered Kamau after befriending Hannah Wanjiru, Kamau’s mom,  some 26 years ago in Nanyuki. Chebon works as a building and construction designer at the  Baringo County Council in Kabarnet.
Chebon is willing to bury Kamau in accordance with the Kalenjin customs. Asked if he  was also eyeing Kamau’s wealth, which is now the subject of controversy between mother and three other women, Chebon said it was a taboo in the Kalenjin community to talk about one’s wealth even before he is buried.
Earlier on, Peter Kimani Kirihinya from Kiambaa, Kiambu County ha disclosed that he was Kamau’s stepfather and would like to bury him.
